About IMA

IMA was founded on the dream of creating a safe competition environment with the promise of fairness, impartiality, and transparency. It is IMA’s goal for contestants to gain confidence and perseverance while being supported by experienced and knowledgeable industry professionals.

 

2022 marks a brand new season of IMA, Child/Teen International Supermodel Competition, partnering with top European and American children’s fashion brands to launch the competition’s first fashion runway show in Toronto. Experienced and knowledgeable industry professionals join our judges panel as they scout top contestants to be signed to top agencies around the world. Come experience a top children’s fashion show unlike any other, take a look into the professional world of fashion, and become a part of leading Canada’s fashion industry.

2022 New Highlights

In-Person Open Castings

Book a slot at your local casting location where castings will be recorded and reviewed by the organizers and show producer with complete fairness, impartiality, and transparency. 

 

Multiple Divisions, Multiple Locations

Our international competition takes place in multiple locations, with divisions in Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, and more, giving contestants the chance to meet fellow young, aspiring models from all over the world. 

 

Promotional Photoshoots

IMA has paired up with renowned Toronto fashion photographers and professional makeup artists to offer contestants the experience of professional, high-fashion photoshoots. 

 

Professional Female Models Division

Other than the previous four childrens divisions, this year’s competition includes a new professional female models division, created in preparation for the upcoming fall-winter season at New York fashion week, Paris fashion week, and other top fashion weeks. 

IMA Events

Castings

[Toronto in-person castings] Competition Events:

  1. Catwalk (recorded)

  2. Digitals taken

Contestants will be judged by the competition committee along with professional modeling instructors, and results will be communicated within 2 business days (every Tuesday) via email. 

 

Local Finals

Competition Events:

  1. Runway: contestants must prepare two outfits total - a streetwear outfit and an evening formal-wear outfit

  2. Commercial Photography: contestants may select their own outfit and pair it with accessories and props to aid in their 10 freestyle poses

 

International Finals

Round 1: Catwalk

Contestants must prepare three outfits - swimwear, evening formal wear, casual/streetwear (with logo tops provided by the event organizers) - to proceed in catwalk competition.

 

Round 2: Posing

Contestants may select their own outfit and pair it with accessories and props to aid in their 10 freestyle poses

 

Round 3: Commercial Script Reciting

Contestants are asked to introduce themselves in one minute, along with one minute of commercial script reciting. Each group will be given the script in advance.

Judging Criteria

Live judging, live calculating of scores, done with complete fairness, impartiality, and transparency.

 

International finals will be held in Toronto, with judges evaluating catwalk, commercial photography, and commercial script recitation to select the winning contestants.

Contestant Divisions

KID: 4-6 years old: 2018/12/31 ~ 2016/01/01

KID: 7-9 years old: 2015/12/31 ~ 2013/01/01

PRE-TEEN: 10-13 years old: 2012/12/31 ~ 2009/01/01

TEEN: 14-19 years old: 2008/12/31 ~ 2004/01/01

FEMALE PROFESSIONAL: 14-28 years old: 2004/12/31 ~ 1994/01/01

Registration Requirements

With the consent of their guardians, children and adolescents who are healthy and of good character, regardless of their ethnicity and race, may register for the competition in their respective divisions. 

 

Female professional model division contestants must be at least 165cm in height, and must wear 10cm heels for the competition.
